A water dispersible powder for use with broilers and poultry breeders. containing Trimethoprim and Sulphadiazine to give broad spectrum antibacterial activity.

This activity is based on a double blockade of bacterial metabolism. 
In combination the two active ingredients have a specifically synergistic effect so that they act even against those organisms that are less sensitive to sulphonamides. 

Cotrim 480W acts on numerous Gram (+) positive and Gram (-) negative bacteria (Streptococci, Staphylococci, E.coli, Salmonella spp., Clostridia) and is useful for the control of the following poultry diseases: Coli-septicaemia, infectious coryza, infectious sinusitis, Pasteurellosis, Salmonellosis, Staphylococcal arthritis and secondary bacterial infections associated with viral respiratory disease and mycoplasmosis.

Composition: 

Dosage & Administration:
15-30mg of combined trimethoprim and sulphadiazine per kg bodyweight achieved by adding 200-400g Cotrim 480W per 1000 litres of drinking water. 
Treat for 4-5 consecutive days when only medicated water should be available. 
The higher dosage rate should be used for the treatment of coli-septicaemia. 

NOTE: In high ambient temperatures when water consumption is increased, reduce the level of inclusion of Cotrim 480W accordingly. Consult the veterinarian for advice.

Medicated water should be administered and used within 24 hours.
